Floating uses Epsom salts, which we have learned is magnesium sulfate. Epsom salt is a natural anti-inflammation remedy that can be used to treat dry skin, sore muscles, small wounds and even to fight illness. It can also be added to any bath or foot soak to create a luxurious at-home spa experience. Floating has a much higher concentration of magnesium than an at home bath.

The magnesium sulfate in Epsom salts reduces inflammation in the body, this includes inflammation in joints and even back pain. Inflammation has been named as one of the most likely culprits in a lot of chronic diseases from rheumatoid arthritis to cardiovascular problems. People who consume more magnesium have fewer markers of wide spread inflammation. We have learned that the magnesium from a float bath can be absorbed through the skin. This is not a substitution for a correct supplementation for micro minerals but a float can help relieve pain by absorbing magnesium through the skin.

Once you have finished your float you will see benefits including soft skin, a relaxed body, and an increased sense of well-being. The night of your float you should experience an amazing night’s sleep. After your float you will likely see a reduction in pain and inflammation. The more you float the longer the residual effects can be. Floating is not a cure for inflammation but it can make life better for those with arthritis and pain caused by inflammation.
